One of the highlights was seeing African penguins at a National Park on the eastern side of the lower Cape:
Baboons are natives here and they stopped traffic when several of them crossed the road:
Here is how Joani looked in the sidecar next to our driver. I sat on the back behind the driver, but was able to see over his head and take pictures:
This is what it looked like riding from behind:
Had a great lunch on the lower cape near the National Park with the penquins, i had a grilled fish called a Kingklip that was excellent. Only one glass of wine considering the 1 1/2 hour ride back on the back of the motorcycle.
The driver dropped us off about 5:30 at the base of the Table Mountain Tramway. Though quite windy at Cape Point / Cape of Good Hope, there was no wind or clouds at Table Mountain and the views were spectacular going up and down and from 3,000 feet above the city. Here is a composite of three shots watching one tram car come down as we were waitingto go up:
Ostriches are also native to the Cape Peninsula; below are shots of wild ostriches in the dunes by a the Cape of Good Hope where people were wind-surfing. Didn't know ostriches were windsurfing fans. Incredible day; also below are more pictures from Table Mountain; some of the Cape Point Lighthouse and headlands, some of beaches we saw while riding, more penguins, more baboons, more ostriches. Sorry for the overload. A+ day.
